Title: Director, Educational Programs
Reports to: VP, CME and Educational Programs
Salary & Benefits: Competitive in the MD/DC/VA market and dependent on qualifications and experience.
Basic Function: To implement new educational initiatives and ongoing administration of successful educational programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop process enhancements and project management for education initiatives to be delivered on time, on budget and on scope
Implement and manage certification specialty programs
Research similar established programs to apply best practices prior to launch
Identify, develop, and manage live and enduring educational programs with commercial educational grant funding. Including comprehensive outcomes reporting.
Manage volunteers, faculty, subject matter experts, consultants and vendors to support communication and ensure effective working relationships within educational programs.
Develop innovative educational delivery methods within existing Annual Scientific Meeting and Review Courses. Support annual meeting abstract process.
Ongoing ACCME compliance tracking and reporting, including upcoming reaccreditation process. Exploration of Joint Accreditation.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Have the ability to maintain confidentiality, multitask, and have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and meet or exceed deadlines • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong command of English grammar and spelling, proofreading and editing • Able to execute projects under minimal supervision and work independently; ability to seek appropriate direction • Think proactively and quickly switch focus due to changing priorities • Actively problem solve and communicate effectively with leadership and members • Identify project resource needs and have experience with budgeting • Have advanced computer skills.
At least five year’s professional experience in a medical non-profit or scientific setting, preferably cardiology • Detailed understanding of CME and ACCME requirements and processes • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

The mission of HFSA is to:

- Educating health care professionals through programs, publications, and other media in the areas of basic science, clinical medicine, patient management, and social, ethical and economic issues to enable them to diagnose and treat heart failure and concomitant medical conditions more effectively.
- Encourage primary and secondary preventive measures to reduce the incidence of heart failure; to serve as a resource for government, private industry, and health care providers to facilitate the establishment of programs and policies that will better serve the patient.
- Enhance quality and duration of life in those with heart failure.
- Promote and facilitate the formal training of physicians, scientists, and allied health care providers in the field of heart failure.
