The successful candidate must be committed to the advancement of quality pharmacy education.  As a member of the ACPE staff, the individual will work with the Assistant Executive Director/Director Continuing Pharmacy Education Provider Accreditation Program (AED/DCPE), and other ACPE staff, under the direction of the ACPE Board of Directors and Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) Commission, to advance the accreditation activities related to continuing pharmacy education programs.  This position is colleague-facing and requires in-person interactions.  Occasional travel is required.

Essential functions of this position include the organization and administration of evaluative processes in continuing pharmacy education, consultative guidance on CPE and CPD activities and issues, development of educational activities, development and evaluation as related to educational research with regards to the standards for continuing pharmacy education and CPD, and implementation of the ACPE strategic plan.

Following, but not limited to, are the essential duties that are the responsibility of the Assistant Director, CPE and CPD, all of which are supervised and approved by the AED/DCPE: 


  • Participating in ACPE comprehensive review conference calls, planning individual activity evaluations and completing Action and Recommendation documents.
  • Participate in interprofessional accreditation reviews within the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education pathway.
  • Assist in the review of accreditation reports, i.e. New Applications, 1st and 2nd Review Reports, Interim reports, Progress reports, with other CPE staff and consultants.
  • In-person participation in CPE Commission meetings, Joint Accreditation meetings, and Board meetings twice a year. 


  • Guidance to providers regarding the Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.
  • Guidance to providers regarding the Standards for Integrity and Independence.
  • Guidance to New applicants seeking ACPE accredited status.
  • Training and guidance to external volunteers serving as comprehensive review field reviewers and individual activity evaluation reviewers.
  • Assistance in planning, preparing, and delivering the CPE Administrator Workshops and other training programs regarding ACPE standards and policies
  • Participate as working member of CPE conference team to complete all tasks as assigned by AED/DCPE.

Continuing Professional Development

  • Serve as staff facilitator for CPD-related projects, initiatives, and committees.
  • Provide education and training to stakeholders (e.g., providers, degree programs, employers, regulatory bodies).
  • Assist in development of tools and resources to support CPD implementation, including management/modifications to online CPD platform.
  • Develop and analyze outcomes of CPD.


  • Educational research, development and evaluation related to standards for continuing pharmacy education.
  • Assist in development of an electronic newsletter, E-update, to CPE providers.


  • Management of complaints regarding continuing pharmacy education.
  • Support of strategic planning efforts and initiatives.
  • Representation of ACPE as requested at various professional and academic organization meetings. Such activities will often include presentations of ACPE standards, policies, and activities.
  • Other duties as requested that advance accreditation, and support and enhance ACPE reputation and activities.


This position requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; experience in pharmacy/interprofessional healthcare education and/or continuing/adult education and/or continuing professional development preferred. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and group communication skills, an ability to collaborate on projects, and a willingness to do light travel. The position is in person, in office, in a pleasant work environment.
