Qualifications
Required Education:
- Master's degree in a mental health specialty (e.g., Master of Social Work, Master of Mental Health, Master of Mental Health Counseling, or Master of Marriage and Family Therapy) from an accredited university
Preferred Education:
- Master's degree in social work or human services related field
Required Experience:
- Two (2) years of relevant post-degree clinical experience
Preferred Experience:
- Two (2) years of relevant post-licensure work experience in a social work or human services field in a mental health care setting.
- Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Knowledge of changes to mental health and substance use disorders in terms of diagnostics.
- Awareness of best practices for treating co-occurring disorders.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXIX (Public Health), Chapter 394 (Mental Health) [a.k.a. The Florida Mental Health Act of 1971 or The Baker Act].
- Familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Behavioral Health Center (BHC) standards, Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensure regulations, Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Health Care Act (AHCA).
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- Licensed as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)) in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 491 (Clinical, Counseling, and Psychotherapy Services).
Responsibilities
Your Role:
- Works as a Multi-disciplinary team member for the Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program.
- Manages an independent psychotherapy practice.
- Acts as a key service provider in multiple settings (e.g., outpatient, and the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs).
- Completes clinical assessments independently for patients/clients with co-occurring mental health, emotional, and substance abuse disorders.
- Manages risks identified during assessments and recommends most appropriate care level.
- Develops complete individualized treatment plans consistent with patients' diagnoses and treatment needs.
- Provides on-going individual and group mental health and substance abuse treatments to patients and their families to help patients achieve and sustain treatment goals.
- Utilizes knowledge of evidenced based mental health and substance abuse modalities, co-morbid conditions, and intervention strategies to provide treatment most appropriate for co-occurring needs.
- Determines when patients have met treatment goals and performs discharges, and transitions to lower care levels.
- Enters clear, concise, organized, timely documentation into clinical records in accordance with guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.
- Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (i.e., I CARE values) consistently.
- Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
- Performs miscellaneous duties that may or may not be expressly described herein.
